Dear Zontians of AZ:

January 27, 2022 is 2 years after the 38th state ratified the ERA, and advocates are moving forward that the ERA is official as of that date. There will be a Press Event in Phoenix on January 27 and Zonta has been asked to attend in numbers and to speak. The Zonta USA Caucus, the District 9 Advocacy Chair (in HI), Club members in the Zonta Club of Casa Grande Valley, and now all of the members of Zonta in AZ.  Across the US, events are being planned on this date to celebrate the ratification of the ERA which occurred on January 27,2020. AZ Senators and Representatives will be filing Resolutions on this topic for Arizona to join 38 other States in Ratifying the ERA    

To continue the issue of public education advocates will be returning as ERA Sentinels- women don the ERA sashes and remind Legislators and the public at the Legislature of the issue of women’s rights. Women’s organizations are being asked to participate in this project.
